Once a Panther, Always a Panther!

Teaching Philosophy

"The Mission of the Superior Unified School District is to: (1) educate all students to their fullest potential and, (2) provide the necessary individual skills to become both college and career ready as well as productive citizens."

When it comes to teaching, I believe that all children are unique and have something special that they can bring to their own education.  I also understand that it is important to develop strong relationships that tap into students' passions and provide a relevance that allows students to make real world connections with the curriculum.  I stress individual responsibility for learning in the class and want my students to enjoy and be challenged in class by incorporating meaningful hands-on and cooperative learning experiences, projects, and individual work that engages and activates student learning.

All About Me

Hello Parents, Guardians, and Students,

My name is Christine Martinez and I teach Business Management, Physical Science and Earth Science.  I am also the advisor for SHS FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) and the Prospector Yearbook.  After 17 years of being a stay at-home mom, I returned to school at Grand Canyon University and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary  Education with and emphasis in Business Education.  I have been with Superior Unified School District for 15 years and look forward to another wonderful year with an awesome group of students.

I know most students don't believe teachers have a life outside of the school, but we do!  My husband Tony and I both graduated from Superior High School and have been married for 33 years.   We have three children,  and are proud grandparents.

As a graduate of Superior High School and the mother to 3 former Panthers, I am honored to be able to give back to my community and students.  "Once a Panther, Always a Panther"!

These are a few things I really enjoy doing in my free time:

  • Gardening

  • Camping

  • Reading (my favorite authors are Nicholas Sparks and Jodi Picoult).

  • Spending time with my kids and grandkids
